Giniling is a dish of Filipino picadillo. Ground meat is the main component of this dish, giling meaning grind in Filipino. Usually ground pork or beef is sautéed with garlic, onions, and tomatoes with maybe the addition of bell peppers, peas, potatoes, and/or raisins. The resulting picadillo can be eaten as is or be the basis of a later dish such as, with the addition of eggs, torta (omelette) or arroz a la cubana, or as a filling in an empanada.
