Ginisang kangkong is a dish of sautéed water spinach. Frequently it is served as a vegetable accompaniment to a meal. It is similar to adobong kangkong and is sometimes used interchangeably to describe that dish. Adobong kangkong, however, would suggest the requisite addition of vinegar and perhaps soy sauce where ginisáng kangkong does not. Unlike many Filipino ginisá dishes the addition of tomatoes and onions is not de rigueur in this one.
Water spinach is an inexpensive vegetable because it easily grows most anywhere in the country, but do remember to wash it thoroughly.
